Privacy Policy

RoleIQ is a browser extension by SwitchiT Network. It analyses how well your CV fits a job, warns about ATS rejection, tailors your resume, and surfaces live jobs. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why. It works alongside our Terms & Conditions.

1. What we collect

Your CV, the PDF or Word file you upload in the app or through the browser extension. We extract its text to read your skills, rank live roles by fit, and build the profile recruiters see.
Your proofs, the answers you give in skill quizzes, the Question of the day, Work Wars games and the interview with Iris, and the medals and scores they produce. Proofs are what recruiters see on your profile.
Your conversations with Iris, the chat thread, and when you use voice, the words you say (we keep the text, not the audio, unless a proctored interview is recording, see section 6).
Referral requests, when you ask Iris to refer you to a company, the role, the short conversation you had with her about it, and the report card she writes from your own words. That report card and your profile are shared with that company's hiring team, and with no one else.
Google account info, if you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name and profile picture, used only to identify your account and keep your CV/matches with you. Sign-in is optional.
Job postings you analyse, the job-description text on the page when you run an analysis.
A random device ID, generated on install to keep your usage in sync across sessions. Not linked to your identity unless you sign in.
Optional alert email, only if you turn on job alerts.
Company names from job pages, while you browse job listings (for example on LinkedIn), RoleIQ may note the names of companies visible on the page so we can add their official career sites to our job coverage. Names only. Never job content, messages, or anything personal.

What we deliberately do NOT collect: your Apply Profile (the answers used by the Autofill feature, including any self-identification responses) is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers. Autofill never submits an application on your behalf.

2. How we use it

To rank live jobs by fit to your CV, and to send job alerts and the weekly digest if you opt in;
To build your profile from your proofs, and to place you in the referral pool for companies whose open roles match your proven skills;
To refer you, at your request, to a company's hiring team, and to let a recruiter you unlock contact you through RoleIQ;
To run Iris, the chat, the voice calls and the interview, and to keep the thread so she remembers what you talked about;
To manage your voice minutes and any voice pack you buy;
In the browser extension, to analyse a job posting against your CV and, at your request, generate a tailored CV or cover letter.

3. Third-party services

OpenAI, CV and job-description text is sent to OpenAI’s API to perform analysis and generation. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
Google, used only for optional Sign-In (OAuth); we request the minimum scopes: email, profile.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Hiring contacts and recruiter connects

Where RoleIQ shows a hiring contact, the email address was extracted from a public job posting published by the employer itself, or the card links to a public LinkedIn profile. Recruiter contact details on the Network screen unlock only after you prove a skill that company hires for. Recruiters who join RoleIQ see candidates with names masked until the candidate accepts a connection. We do not distribute personal phone numbers. If you are a recruiter and want a contact removed, write to hello@roleiq.in. We action removal requests promptly.

5. Storage & retention

Data is stored securely on our cloud infrastructure. When you upload a CV, we store its extracted text and a list of your skill keywords with your account, not the original Word file, which stays on your device. We keep this profile so you don’t have to re-upload, and so we can personalise your experience: ranking live jobs by fit, powering your Career Radar (an ongoing read of your job market), and recommending relevant certifications. By uploading a CV and using these features, you authorise this storage and use. We retain the profile until you remove it.

6. Proctored tests (camera & monitoring)

Role Tests can be proctored, with your explicit consent, to keep results trustworthy. During a proctored attempt we record simple integrity signals, tab/app switches and paste attempts, and, only if you choose the camera option, a small number of webcam snapshots. Snapshots are stored securely, used solely to review flagged attempts, are never shared with employers, and are automatically deleted after 45 days. You can always take a test un-proctored (it won't carry a verified badge). We never record continuous video or audio, and we never access your camera outside a test you started.

7. Your rights & deleting your data

Reset yourself in one click. The extension’s Settings page has a “Reset me” option that permanently deletes your stored CV text, skill keywords, saved jobs, and alert/digest preferences from our servers, and clears your data from this device.
Replacing or clearing your CV in Settings removes the previous CV text;
Sign out at any time to revoke Google access (also revocable at your Google Account permissions);
Uninstalling the extension stops all local data collection;
